On February 8, Xiaomi’s founder, chairman, and CEO, Lei Jun, announced the completion of a winter highway test drive for the company’s upcoming YU7 SUV. The test aimed to evaluate the vehicle’s intelligent driving capabilities and range performance.
The journey commenced at 6:10 AM and concluded at 9:10 PM, covering a total distance of 1,310 kilometers, predominantly on highways, with an average speed exceeding 100 km/h. The lowest temperature encountered during the drive was -10°C, and the team made two charging stops along the way. Lei Jun remarked, “The YU7 performed well; we successfully completed this mission!”
The YU7 is a mid-to-large-sized pure electric SUV, measuring 4,999 mm in length, 1,996 mm in width, and 1,600 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,000 mm. The vehicle will be available in both rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations. The YU7 is expected to officially launch in June or July 2025, with a starting price around ¥250,000.
