Several new energy vehicle (NEV) startups have disclosed their sales figures for January 2025. Due to the Spring Festival holiday and the transitional period following the implementation of the “Two New” policies, the market landscape has seen significant changes. Xiaopeng Motors has reclaimed the top spot after 30 months, breaking Li Auto’s 24-month streak of being the monthly delivery champion. Leap Motor has fallen to third place, while NIO’s performance has been less than satisfactory. The details are as follows:
- Xpeng Motors delivered 30,350 vehicles in January, a year-on-year increase of 268%. Xiaopeng has now achieved over 30,000 deliveries for three consecutive months, with the Xiaopeng MONA M03 model delivering over 15,000 units for two months in a row.
- Li Auto delivered 29,927 vehicles in January. The company’s cumulative historical deliveries have reached 1,163,799 units.
- Leapmotor delivered 25,170 vehicles in January, a 105% year-on-year increase. The strong growth highlights Leap Motor’s increasing competitiveness in the mass-market NEV sector, focusing on vehicles priced between 100,000 and 200,000 RMB.
- NIO delivered 13,863 vehicles in January, a year-on-year growth of 37.9%. Of this total, 7,951 vehicles were from the NIO brand, and 5,912 vehicles were from the recently launched its Onvo (Ledao in China) sub-brand , which has cumulatively delivered 26,673 units to date.
- Xiaomi maintained its monthly delivery of over 20,000 vehicles in January, achieving this milestone for four consecutive months. The Xiaomi Yu7 SUV is expected to be officially launched in June or July.
- Lantu Motors delivered 8,009 vehicles in January, marking a 14% year-on-year increase.
- HIMA(Harmony lntelligent Mobility Alliance )delivered 34,987 vehicles across its entire lineup in January, holding its position at the top of the Chinese car market in terms of average transaction price for the 9th consecutive month.
