SF Express, through its subsidiary Fengyi Technology, has launched China’s first air-ground coordinated “Fengyi Baoan Low-Altitude Smart Logistics Operation Center” in Baoan District, Shenzhen. This milestone signals the acceleration of large-scale drone delivery and a significant transformation in the express logistics industry.
The 900-square-meter operation center integrates unmanned vehicles with drones, combining traditional logistics with low-altitude logistics to create a three-tier logistics network—comprising hubs, grids, and end points. This innovative model is expected to become a next-generation logistics hub for the express industry.
Unlike previous operations where SF’s low-altitude transport was separate from traditional logistics, the Baoan center achieves efficient collaboration between drones and unmanned vehicles. This integration dramatically improves delivery speed, with same-city parcels delivered within two hours and cross-city shipments reaching destinations in just three hours. The new center reduces delivery times for air freight by half a day.
The center has clear functional zones. The first floor hosts SF Express’ smart distribution center, equipped with sorting and other intelligent devices. The second floor features a drone operation exhibition area with a command and dispatch center that monitors flight data in real-time. The rooftop serves as a drone takeoff and landing zone with multiple drones operating together. The center processes over 2,000 parcels daily, effectively linking various express networks and promoting large-scale development.
Fengyi Technology is leveraging SF Express’ extensive nationwide delivery network to establish a commercial model for low-altitude logistics. The Baoan center will serve as a prototype, with plans to expand and replicate its operations in other regions, applying Shenzhen’s operational experience and new transportation capabilities to other markets.
