On April 3, Pony.ai announced it has received a Robotaxi testing permit from Luxembourg’s Ministry of Mobility and Public Works, making it one of the first companies authorized to conduct autonomous vehicle road tests in the country.
Last September, Pony.ai established its European R&D Center in Luxembourg to accelerate global innovation and application of autonomous driving technologies. The company aims to integrate its solutions into Luxembourg’s next-generation smart mobility infrastructure. In October, Pony.ai signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with local mobility company Emile Weber to collaborate on the development and deployment of autonomous driving technologies and services.
According to its roadmap, Pony.ai will partner with Emile Weber to jointly carry out Robotaxi testing in Luxembourg. The collaboration will leverage Pony.ai’s cutting-edge autonomous driving technology and Emile Weber’s rich experience in public and private transportation as well as tourism operations—accelerating the rollout of autonomous mobility services in the region.
