In the early hours of February 10, Zhang Yutong, co-founder of Moonshot AI, commented on the rapid pace of AI development during the Chinese New Year. She playfully questioned, “Has AI always followed the lunar calendar?” and noted that every Spring Festival, AI seems to evolve at an astonishing speed.
Zhang acknowledged the fluctuations in AI’s popularity but emphasized that Kimi continues to evolve, encouraging people to bravely chase their dreams. “AGI still holds many unexplored possibilities. As long as we keep moving toward a seemingly distant yet increasingly clear direction, even small steps matter.”
Along with her post, Zhang shared a chart illustrating the soaring user growth of Kimi since the first day of the Lunar New Year. According to QuestMobile’s 2024 China AIGC Application Development Annual Report, released in January, Kimi’s monthly active users (MAU) reached 21.01 million as of December 2024.
