According to sources, Baidu’s autonomous driving services are considering expanding to the UAE. On February 12, Dubai’s Crown Prince Hamdan bin Mohammed stated that he recently met with Baidu founder Robin Li in Dubai. Earlier, Li had a conversation with Omar Sultan Al Olama, the UAE Minister of Artificial Intelligence. Al Olama expressed his expectations, saying, “We hope that at next year’s conference, all fleets will be supported by autonomous driving powered by Luobo Kuai Pao (Baidu’s autonomous driving service).”
Baidu is reportedly considering launching autonomous taxi operations in the UAE, with testing in Dubai potentially beginning as early as the first half of this year.
