Unitree unveils Dex5 dexterous hand with 20 degrees of freedom and advanced tactile sensing

Unitree Robotics has released a demonstration video of its latest dexterous hand, the Unitree Dex5, via its official Weibo account. The Dex5 features a 20-DOF single-hand design (including 16 active and 4 passive degrees of freedom), supporting backdrivability and precise force control. It is equipped with 94 sensitive tactile sensors, enabling highly human-like manipulation.

Compared to the previous-generation Dex3-1, which had a three-finger, 7-DOF structure, the Dex5 represents a significant upgrade in both dexterity and tactile feedback. These advancements greatly expand its potential in fine manipulation tasks across various robotic application scenarios.
