SAIC Motor Partners with Huawei to Launch New “Harmony OS Smart Driving” Car Series – Shangjie

SAIC Motor has officially announced a collaboration with Huawei to develop the fifth “world” of HarmonyOS Smart Driving – Shangjie. The collaboration will use the “Zhixuan Car” model, and SAIC has signed an agreement with Huawei’s terminal division. All Shangjie models will be sold through the HarmonyOS Smart Driving platform. The project leader from SAIC is Zhu Yong, Vice General Manager of SAIC Passenger Vehicles.

The first model of the Shangjie series will be based on SAIC’s Roewe brand vehicle, internally codenamed “ES39,” which will feature Huawei’s cabin and intelligent driving technologies. The car will offer two electric range versions and is expected to be launched in the fourth quarter of this year. It will target the 150,000-250,000 CNY price range and is set to become the most affordable HarmonyOS Smart Driving model. The second Shangjie model is still under discussion between SAIC and Huawei, and it is expected to be a completely new development.
